Shale Oak Winery's 15th Anniversary: A Celebration to Remember

Fifteen years is a big deal, and Shale Oak Winery celebrated it in a big way. The winery threw an anniversary party full of music, performers, dancing, and great wine, the kind of night that made you forget to check the time.

I had the honor of photographing the celebration, and it was one of the most fun, high-energy events I've ever shot. Here's a look back at the night.

A Party Worthy of Fifteen Years


From the moment guests arrived, the energy was electric. The winery was packed with friends, wine club members, and longtime fans of Shale Oak, all there to raise a glass to fifteen years of great wine in Paso Robles.

Performers That Stole the Show


This wasn't your average winery party. Performers in elaborate costumes moved through the crowd all night, including stilt walkers towering over guests and dancers in dramatic feathered wings. Everywhere you turned there was something to see, and guests couldn't stop pulling out their phones.

Fire Dancers Lighting Up the Night


As the sun went down, the fire dancers took over. Watching flames spin and swirl against the dark vineyard sky was unforgettable, and a photographer's dream. The crowd gathered around, cheering with every move.

Dueling Pianos and a Full Dance Floor


The dueling pianos kept the energy high all night long, taking requests, getting the crowd singing along, and turning the evening into one big party. Before long the dance floor was full, with glasses in hand and nobody holding back.

Ax Throwing (Yes, Really)


For guests looking for a little friendly competition, there was ax throwing. Nothing brings out people's competitive side quite like a glass of wine and a bullseye. It was one of the most popular spots of the night, with plenty of cheering, trash talk, and victory celebrations.

The Heart of It All: The Wine


Of course, none of this would have happened without the wine that brought everyone together. Glasses stayed full as guests toasted to fifteen years of Shale Oak, and to many more.
